How to Help

Volunteer Opportunities

Administration – provide administrative support such as data entry, special projects and annual events.

Baby Boutique – We help over 100 families a month through our baby boutique, and items need to be continually sorted and organized in order for families to have the best shopping experience.

Peer Counseling – Meet with clients, follow up with them and make community referrals. You will be asked to participate in both a 40 hour training program as well as on the job training.

All of the above requires a submission of the Heart to Heart volunteer application. For more info on volunteer opportunities please contact our office at 694-1747, or use the contact form on this website.

Special Events

Heart to Heart has two main fundraisers every year (in spring and fall) and participates in community events throughout the year to raise awareness of our center in the community. We are always looking for people who can help us with our special events throughout the year. Events include, but are not limited to:

  • Sanctity of Life – January
  • Baby Bottle Boomerang – January to May
  • Chocolate for Life Fundraiser – May
  • Bear Paw Festival – July
  • Fruit of the Vine Wine Tasting Fundraiser – October
  • Thanksgiving Pie Pickup – November
  • Merry Merchant Munch – December

Financial – Thank you for considering a monetary donation to Heart to Heart! You can make your donation safely and securely with our online form. Recurring monthly giving is also an option with our online form.

Material – Heart to Heart helps over 100 families a month through material aid, so donations of new or gently used maternity and baby clothing (preemie to size 4T) and other baby items are always appreciated. Donations can be dropped off during our regular hours: Tue-Fri, 10 am to 3 pm. Donation receipts are available upon request.

Many of the people coming in for help at Heart to Heart are facing big life changes. Prayer for staff, volunteers and everyone who comes in to Heart to Heart is greatly appreciated.

Church Representative

We have over 40 churches in the Chugiak-Eagle River community. It is difficult for our staff to be in contact with all of them on a regular basis. Having a representative at each church makes it easier for us to partner with each other in helping the community we serve. Heart to Heart supplies information and materials to each representative that they can then bring to their church and pass on: event info, prayer requests, and current needs at our center. If you are interested in becoming a church representative, let us know!
